Busy Bodies
We hear that some among you are idle. They are not busy; they are busy bodies -

A sad eyed pup named Towser followed Farmer Brown into the yard and fell exhausted on the grass. "Look how worn out poor Towser is!" said a friend who had been waiting for them. "Yes, but it isn't the long walk that's done him in, said Brown. "He tried himself out by getting into all kinds of mischief. He couldn’t pass an open gate without running through it nose around and see what was on the other side. Whenever he noticed a hen, he always took off after it and sent it scarring. He ran toward every dog he saw and barked or tried to start a fight. He meddled with everything that moved. No wonder Towser’s all tired out!"
The apostle Paul had to deal with a similar problem in the first century church. In 2 Thessalonians 3:11, he referred to people who were disorderly and meddled in the affairs of others. Although they would not work, Paul called them busybodies. They were industrious but they expended all their energy in gossiping, criticizing, stirring up strife. How disruptive such people are to the Lord’s words. They create discord among believers.
Dear friends, let's confine ourselves to the narrow path of constructive Christian service. Then we wont become unproductive busybodies.
The tongue can be a blessing
Or the tongue can be a curse;
Say, friends, how you are using yours
For better or for worse?
